Job summary

SS Systems is seeking a Fire & Security Engineer to install, commission and maintain fire and security systems across client sites in the UK. The role includes planned alterations, reactive calls and occasional away work.

You will work with a range of alarms, CCTV and access control equipment and be part of a busy, customer‑facing team. You should have hands-on experience with fire/security systems, strong fault finding skills and a commitment to safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Experience in the maintenance and repair of fire and security systems.
• Experience with EMS, Kentec, Advanced and Notifier preferred.
• Experience with Galaxy, Texecom, Paxton, Videx access control is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install and commission fire and security systems to BS standards.
• Perform alterations, additions, repairs and investigations on systems.
• Maintain systems to required standards and schedule servicing.
• Ensure first-time fix rate and accurate on-site reporting.
• Manage safety on site and coordinate with team members.

We are a forward-thinking flexible company that puts our staff at the heart of what we do and you’ll find a warm welcome when you join our team.Because we’re flexible, we expect you to be too and whilst your job will mainly involve conducting planned alterations to systems, we may need you to help us out with reactive calls and planned maintenance works when we’re really busy.

SS Systems is a FireandSecurity Company based in South Yorkshire. We install and maintainFire Alarms, Intruder Alarms, Access Control, CCTV and ancillary systems throughout thecountry.Your basic working week is 40 hours.Although weare based in South Yorkshire, we have high profile clients all over the country and you will be expected to work away on occasion.In return for your hard work we’ll supply all the normal things you would expect:

Responsibilities

• Conducting installations and commissioning of Fire and Security systems to the required British Standard, on time and on budget.
• Conducting alterations to the required British Standard, on time and on budget. Alterations will consist of additions to systems, repairs to systems and investigations to systems.
• Conducting maintenance of Fire and Security systems to the required British Standard
• Conducting fault fining of Fire and Security systems,
• Help to manage & exceed client expectations
• Provide accurate, regular reports to your manager on the progress of the work
• Manage other contractors and junior colleagues on site where appropriate
• Health & Safety of yourself and others
• Where appropriate provide the correct completed certification accurately and on time.
• We are looking for your help in reducing repeated callouts and so will expect you to achieve a first-time fix rate of 90%
• We expect you to be aware of and comply with the BS standards for servicing of systems.
• Ensure your van stock level is adequate for our customer base and their requirements.
• Use PDA as expected and in real time

Person Specification
To be successful you will have the following abilities or qualifications:

• Experience in the Maintenance and Repair of Fire and Security Systems (particularly Fire)
• Experience with the following systems preferred but not essential
• EMS, Kentec, Advanced and Notifier
• Galaxy and Texecom Intruder systems
• Paxton/BPT/ Videx Access control
• Hikvision and Dahau CCTV
• Good time management
• Good time keeping
• Good organisational skills
• Hard Working
• Friendly
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
