Job summary

The post holder will be responsible and accountable for delivering and influencing the delivery of a defined service. They will support the senior management team to achieve strategic targets and oversee the operational management of the service. The post holder will work in accordance with professional and regulatory body standards and guidance, ensuring their practice is grounded in evidence-based knowledge.

They will develop innovative practices responding to emerging knowledge and techniques, and be responsible for delivering high-standard clinical services through effective leadership and management.

The post holder will collaborate with senior nurses and AHP colleagues to support clinical practice and governance. They will demonstrate advanced management skills and provide support and advice to service users, parents/carers, staff, managers, and other agencies.

The Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LYPFT) is the main provider of Mental Health and Learning Disability services in Leeds, offering specialist inpatient services in York and across the country. Job responsibilities
  • Lead complex communication processes impacting service users, carers, staff, and agencies, especially where understanding barriers exist.
  • Responsible for operational delivery and clinical pathway implementation.
  • Demonstrate competency in capacity and performance management, policy implementation, and resource management.
  • Provide clinical and managerial leadership, role modeling to teams.
  • Advise and lead clinical and professional teams, ensuring adherence to policies and managing change effectively.
  • Make autonomous decisions on resource prioritization in complex situations.
  • Manage delegated budgets and support overall service budget management.
  • Provide expert clinical advice on care planning and patient care.
