Reporting to the General Manager, the Operations Manager will oversee daily activity at the Sevington site, managing budget, efficiency and service standards across the whole operation. This full-time post, paying £50,388 per annum, carries responsibility for performance against agreed KPIs, plus QSHE and legal compliance. The successful candidate will shape workforce culture, leading, coaching and developing colleagues to embed business excellence. Strong communication, financial acumen and a track record of driving continuous improvement in operational efficiency and customer service are essential. Experience within logistics or a comparable sector is expected. We are currently recruiting for an experienced Operations Manager to join our client’s team.
Job duties and responsibilities: Reporting directly to the General Manager, this role will manage the day-to-day operation to ensure effective management of the budget, efficiency and service standards of the total operation. Manage all aspects of performance to ensure compliance with agreed KPIs. Responsible for QSHE and all legal compliance within the operation. To play a vital role in shaping the culture and approach of the workforce and supporting and developing the team through leading, coaching and communicating – facilitating a focus on business excellence and continuous improvement of operational efficiency and customer service standards. Develop a culture of continuous improvement with a methodology to support business efficiency, KPI targets and cost reduction requirements.
The ideal candidate will have: Experience in managing employee relations and customer/trading relations. Exposure to operating within a commercial environment sufficient to develop effective customer service and commercial understanding. People management and line management experience. Working knowledge of Health and Safety and Legal compliance. Ability to present and communicate effectively Excellent organisational skills and strong interpersonal skills Excellent management, written and verbal communication and influencing skills Team working and customer focused attitude. Excellent financial acumen and commercial awareness. An excellent level of IT literacy. Management warehouse systems experience.
Conditions: Mon- Fri 0800-1600 (flexibility required for operational adjustments) Salary: £50,388.00 Weekly or monthly pay available Flexible approach to working hours, including covering holidays and absence when required To be eligible you need: NO unspent convictions and be able to pass a basic Criminal Record Check/Disclosure (DBS check) Ability to provide 3 years referencing contacts and have been resident in the UK for the last 5 years.
