Job Description:
Main Purpose of the Job:
With a primary focus on the airport’s baggage system, the Operation & Maintenance Engineer will safely and efficiently ensure the system remains operationally functional and experiences minimal down-time. you will provide support and feedback to the baggage system project team as well as support baggage systems knowledge transfer across the wider Engineering shift team members.
Main Tasks of the Job:
- Proactively support the engineering function through the provision of technical authority and on-the-job training with respect to the baggage system
- Take lead for fully maintaining the baggage system, carrying out all planned preventative maintenance tasks, except controls
- Take lead for all reactive calls for baggage system failures / breakdowns.
- Using engineering technical skills and experience, become a subject matter expert in the function, control and operation of the baggage system o Support Asset stewardship with current CMMS
- Support development of LCY Maintenance Plan for the baggage system
- Assist the Critical Services Engineering team in the co-ordination of contractors in respect of reactive, pre-planned maintenance and ad-hoc works
- Ensure engineering personnel and contractors undertake works in accordance with safe working practices, quality standards and conform to best practice methodologies
- Provide wider engineering support general M&E activities for the airport on an ad-hoc basis, to include routine and essential PPM tasks as required
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the building layout, function and complexities through developed practices through continuous assessment, staff training and personal development.
- Minimum of 5 years M&E experience in conveyor belt systems including PPM, fault diagnosis and rectification
- Demonstratable knowledge of M&E Fault Diagnostics
- Strong ability to understand technical drawings and schematics
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and prioritise tasks
- Demonstrable ability to work unsupervised and take accountability for areas of work
- Evaluate situations on facts not opinions, analyse, problem solve and identify core issues
- Keep documentation in an orderly fashion
- A team player with excellent communications both verbal and written
- Ability to work at Height
- Controls experience would be an added benefit, but not essential
Qualifications:
- City & Guilds, BTEC or NVQ 3 in Engineering maintenance related subject
- 18th Edition, IEE wiring regulations qualified o Full Driving license
- IPAF
- C&G in any of the core skills
Hours of Work:
42-hour week to cover a 24-hour operation on a shift rota
