Job summary

Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Specialty Manager for the City Road Division, covering Paediatrics, Strabismus, and Neuro-ophthalmology. The role focuses on day-to-day operational management and line management of the admin team, supporting RTT performance and annual plans.

This 12‑month fixed-term post involves leading service improvements and preparing for a new EPR system and the 2027 move to a new centre, ensuring seamless clinical and administrative operations.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level or equivalent knowledge, skills and management experience.
• Operational management experience within the acute sector or similarly complex organisation.
• Knowledge of ophthalmology pathways and targets and how to deliver RTT performance.

Responsibilities

• Operational management of Paediatrics, Strabismus and Neuro-ophthalmology services.
• Manage an administrative department and HR processes.
• Contribute to service improvement, strategy and financial management.
• Lead two large-scale changes including EPR implementation and 2027 relocation.
