Job Overview

Position Overview: As Operations Director you will play a crucial role in streamlining our operations, maximizing efficiency, and driving growth within the organization. This leadership role necessitates a strategic thinker who can analyze and optimize our current processes while also implementing new technologies and practices that enhance productivity and reduce costs. You will have a strong background in operations management, a deep understanding of injection molding, and proven experience in leading diverse teams to achieve operational excellence. As a key member of our management team, you will collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment with our company goals and objectives

  • Work with the wider management team to establish, lead and deliver business and operational improvement projects from concept to completion across multiple sites;
  • Work across sites to drive process improvements, standardization, KPIs and one IPL Culture
  • Coach and develop site management teams to deliver continuous improvement, added value and cost reductions.
  • Lead from the front on health and safety campaigns and initiatives. Working with the EH&S community ensure all sites operate in accordance EH&S policies and procedures to safeguard the well-being of staff and visitors.
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and resources to optimize operational expenditures and drive profitability
  • Analyze performance metrics and operational data to identify areas for improvement and drive data-driven decision-making
  • Provide regular, consistent, and transparent communication and interaction with the management team and as required ELT members about business activities, potential threats, opportunities, and recommended actions.
  • Ensure strong communication between teams and cross functionally to facilitate exchange of information and to implement change and improvements.
  • Support the management team to deliver fit for purpose operational structure, processes, and culture.
  • Support the divisional operational strategy, safe operations, operating performance, capital deployment and growth initiatives.

About You

Experience and Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in operations management in manufacturing industry
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of managing teams and driving performance
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex operational challenges.
  • In-depth knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and other process improvement methodologies.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficient in using operational software and tools for data analysis and reporting
  • Can demonstrate leadership courage and a strategic mindset
  • Can demonstrate resilience in the face of challenging market conditions and geopolitical events
  • Ability to drive for results in a way that is aligned to our Company values
  • Customer centric, ability to connect, interact, and build relationships
