Job summary

Permanent Futures Limited, a multisite Yorkshire manufacturing business, is seeking an Operations Director to bridge the Senior Management team and the board. You will have overall responsibility for production, design, quality, health and safety, engineering and supply chain for a team of circa 300.

The role focuses on delivering operational KPIs, driving continuous improvement, and shaping the long-term strategy and cultural change.

Qualifications

• Degree calibre with proven leadership and coaching abilities.
• Lean/CI training with proven implementation and CI culture.
• Experience in world-class manufacturing in a senior/Director role.
• Gravitas to lead a large team from shop floor to board room.
• Strong cross-department relationship builder.
• P&L experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver on the site's operational KPIs while developing a culture of continuous improvement.
• Lead senior colleagues in manufacturing and engineering to contribute to the growth strategy.
• Deliver on the long-term strategic vision and implement cultural change.
• Be flexible and firm when expressing views, but a good listener when there are compelling reasons to adjust.

Our client, a multisite Yorkshire manufacturing business, seek to appoint an Operations Director to act as the intermediary between the Senior Management team and the board. The appointed Operations Director will have overall responsibility for production, design, quality, health and safety, engineering and supply chain activities for a team of circa 300. Operations Director - Role & Responsibilities

• Deliver on the operational KPIs for the site whilst simultaneously further developing a culture of continuous improvement
• Lead senior colleagues in manufacturing and engineering to contribute effectively to the growth strategy of the business
• Deliver on long term strategic vision of the company and implement cultural change
• Flexible attitude on a day to day basis. Firm and persistant when expressing views but a good listener comfortable changing course if given compelling reasons

• Of degree calibre with well evidenced leadership and coaching abilities
• Formal Lean and Continuous Improvement training. Track record of lean implementation and development of a culture of continuous improvement
• Prior experience working for a world class manufacturer in a senior management / director post
• Gravitas to lead a large team. Comfortable from shop floor to board room
• Relationship builder able to increase co-operation across departments
• P&L experience
