Job summary

ARR Craib Ltd, based in Inverness, is seeking an Operations Assistant to support load planning, delivery scheduling and depot cover. You will work with the customer service team to meet delivery requirements and maintain KPI targets while handling bookings and inquiries from customers.

The role requires good communication, strong organisation, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Overtime is available, with a competitive salary and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in logistics planning is advantageous but not required.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong organisational skills with ability to prioritise workload.
• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Solution-oriented and flexible approach; able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning inbound and outbound loads for the operation.
• Coordinate with Customer Service to schedule deliveries per customer requirements.
• Provide holiday cover for Depot Manager and Transport Operators.
• Answer customer queries via email, phone and in person.
• Ensure contracted work is covered to meet customer expectations.
• Communicate collection times and delivery bookings with customers.
• Support risk assessments and general administrative tasks.

Shift: Monday to Friday - 08:30hrs-17:30hrs - Start time may vary to accommodate holiday cover.

About The Role

As a Operations Assistant, you will:

• Assist with planning loads (inbound and outbound) delivery for the operation whilst monitoring KPI for delivery on time, shift revenue and vehicle utilisation.
• Working with the Customer Service Team to ensure deliveries are scheduled as per customer requirements.
• Provide holiday cover for Depot Manager and Transport Operators.
• Answering all customer queries via email, phone, and face to face.
• Ensuring that all contracted work is covered in line with customer expectations.
• Communicating collection times and delivery bookings with customers.
• Adherence to policies and procedures within the Business Area.
• Assist Depot Manager with carrying out Risk Assessments.
• General Administrative tasks.

Essential Skills And Qualifications

• Previous experience of working within a similar role in the logistics industry would be advantageous but not necessary.
• Strong geographical knowledge of the highlands area would be beneficial.
• Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• Excellent organisational skills and prioritising workload.
• Attention to detail.
• Working to deadlines.
• Solution driven and flexible approach to your work.
• Able to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
• MS packages to include, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
