Job summary

Amey in Forfar is seeking an Operations Assistant to support highways and infrastructure services across the North East of Scotland, coordinating day-to-day activities and assisting with winter service delivery. The role works alongside Supervisors to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and to high standards.

You'll manage plant, materials, subcontractors and records, prepare permits and briefings, and contribute to incident investigations and commercial reporting while developing

Qualifications

  • Experience coordinating teams and building relationships.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Willingness to support emergency response and winter service activities.
  • Knowledge of CDM 2015 and SSSTS is desirable (training will be provided).

We’re looking for a proactive and organised Operations Assistant to join our team at Forfar Depot, supporting the delivery of essential highways and infrastructure services across the North East of Scotland.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in keeping the trunk road network safe, reliable and efficient. Working alongside our Operational Highways Supervisors and wider management team, you'll help coordinate day-to-day activities, support winter maintenance operations, organise resources, and ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is organised, motivated and enjoys working in a fast-paced operational environment. You'll have strong communication skills, good attention to detail, commercial awareness and confidence using Microsoft Office. Experience within highways, construction, infrastructure or operational environments would be advantageous, but we'll support your development with training where needed.
