Job summary

Nationwide seeks an experienced Second Line Operational Risk Oversight professional to monitor and challenge change delivery across major programmes, ensuring risk appetite is respected and customer outcomes are safeguarded.

You will partner with Programme Directors, project managers, and technical teams across Nationwide, providing risk insight and promoting best practices while strengthening governance. We support flexible and hybrid working across our UK offices.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in managing or overseeing large-scale change programmes in a financial services or similar complex environment.
• Experience in risk management or assurance, evaluating project risks, controls, and governance.
• Strong stakeholder engagement with senior leaders and the ability to challenge and support them in managing risk.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of understanding complex project issues and recommending mitigations.
• Resilience and adaptability balancing multiple projects and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver independent operational risk oversight of major change programmes and projects across Nationwide, ensuring risk appetite and safe outcomes.
• Review risk and control assessments, provide constructive challenge on project plans and governance.
• Promote best practices in risk and control management across change delivery and improve project outcomes.
