Job summary

Nationwide Building Society is seeking an experienced Risk Manager Oversight to deliver independent operational risk oversight of major change programmes and projects. You will review risk and control assessments, challenge plans to align with risk appetite, and promote best practice across change delivery.

In this hybrid role, you will collaborate with Programme Directors and technical teams, ensuring incidents are mitigated before impacting customers.

Qualifications

• Experience overseeing large-scale change programmes in financial services or similar complex environments.
• Proven track record in risk management or assurance workflows and governance.
• Strong ability to engage with senior leaders and challenge project plans on risk grounds.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to assess risk and mitigation actions.
• Resilience and adaptability to manage multiple change priorities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver independent operational risk oversight of major change programmes and projects.
• Review risk and control assessments, and challenge project plans to meet risk appetite.
• Ensure adherence to risk management standards and change delivery frameworks.
• Collaborate with risk specialists across the Three Lines of Defence to strengthen risk oversight.
• Produce timely oversight reports and influence improvements in change delivery.
