Job summary

NatWest Group, based in Manchester, is seeking an Operational Risk Manager to partner with Business Risk Teams. You will support RCSAs, issue management and broader risk oversight, strengthening controls and driving improvements across the Commercial & Institutional portfolio.

You’ll analyze risk trends, influence stakeholders and contribute to enterprise-wide risk management initiatives. A proactive, collaborative approach is essential.

Qualifications

Join us in Commercial & Institutional Business Risk as an Operational Risk Manager

• You'll act as the subject matter expert for several Operational Risks, helping drive effective risk management across Commercial & Institutional
• We’ll look to you to use insight and analysis to identify risk trends, emerging themes and opportunities for improvement, supporting better business outcomes
• Broaden your risk management experience across a diverse range of operational risk themes and business activities as you step into this important role

What you’ll do

As our Operational Risk Manager, you’ll provide specialist risk management support to Business Risk Partners across Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs), issue management and wider risk oversight activities. You’ll help strengthen the control environment and support effective risk management across the franchise. Working closely with Business Risk Partners and stakeholders across the business, you'll help identify emerging risks, support risk assessments and drive continuous improvement.

You’ll be:

• Managing operational risk exposure, coordinating monthly Operational Risk Appetite reporting and analysing trends to identify themes and improvement opportunities
• Working with business teams and stakeholders to maintain Risk Appetite Statements and implement changes arising from the groups Enterprise-Wide Risk Management Framework (EWRMF)
• Supporting environmental and business change activities, recommending updates where impacts span multiple RCSAs across C&I Ring Fenced Bank
• Analysing emerging themes across Operational Risk areas and providing insight to support risk management decisions
• Supporting franchise-wide projects and initiatives linked to Risks, including attestations, working groups and governance activities

The skills you'll need

You’ll have a strong understanding of the enterprise wide frameworks, with experience applying risk management principles in practice. You’ll also have experience in Product, Transformation, Operations or Payments.
