Job summary

Referment is supporting a fully regulated UK digital bank in recruiting an Operational Risk Analyst. The role sits in the second line of defence with reporting to the Operational Risk Manager, and sits in London or Manchester.

You’ll help develop and maintain the bank's Operational Risk Management Framework, advise teams, and challenge colleagues on identifying, assessing and reporting operational risks across the business.

Qualifications

• Experience in operational risk or assurance within banking/financial services.
• Understanding of RCSAs, risk events, issues management and KRIs.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret data, spot trends and turn findings into recommendations.
• Clear communication and ability to report clearly to audiences up to Board level.

Responsibilities

• Support business areas in identifying and assessing operational risks and maintaining effective controls.
• Conduct risk assessments, identify weaknesses and recommend improvements.
• Develop, maintain and implement operational risk policies and procedures.
• Oversee and challenge the RCSA process including risk assessments, controls and action plans.
• Coordinate risk events and issues, ensure clear ownership and progress tracking.
• Review risk events to identify themes and underlying causes and prevent recurrence.
• Test and monitor controls for design and operation efficacy.
• Develop and monitor key risk indicators and escalate emerging concerns.
• Prepare management information and monthly/quarterly risk reporting for senior management and the Board.
• Provide second-line advice and challenge on projects, new products and features.
