The LME Group are recruiting an Operational Resilience Manager to take responsibility for reviewing and ensuring the Operational Resilience Framework remains relevant and continues to embed across the organisation. This includes implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement.
Detailed Responsibilities:
- Engaging with stakeholders across the firm to ensure important business services are identified, prioritised and mapped to operational dependencies. This process takes place annually or following major organisational change
- Identifying and documenting the people, processes, technology, facilities, data and information security that support important business services.
- Working with service owners and their teams to identify key risks to important business services.
- Working with the organisation to identify, assess and remediate vulnerabilities.
- Developing and maintaining impact tolerance statements for the important business services.
- Defining a range of scenarios to challenge impact tolerances including extreme but plausible scenarios. Scenarios will be sufficient to satisfy regulatory needs and business continuity testing needs to ISO22301 standard. Testing will identify areas for improvement.
- Assisting with coordination of Business Continuity / Crisis Management Team incidents through to satisfactory resolution in line with company policy, plans and procedures. Consideration for adherence to the defined impact tolerances Coordinate production of post incident report to include learnings and actions.
- Act as the Crisis lead when needed and support the on call rota system for this role.
- Coordinating production of management information with the service owners and function owners. Responsibility for presenting and reporting to the Operational Resilience Governance Committee and other governing bodies where appropriate.
- Supporting product owners with Op Res requirements and provide appropriate contribution to requirements and testing documentation as required for projects.
- Developing industry and regulatory expertise to be positioned as an operational resilience subject matter expert for the firm.
Required Knowledge and Level of Experience :
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience of working in an operational resilience, business continuity or operational risk role - Essential
- Strong knowledge of financial services regulatory requirements for operational resilience e.g. FCA and Bank of England - Essential
- High levels of organisation and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- ISO22301 certification/BCI qualification preferred (but not essential)
- Undergraduate degree/Masters in Resilience/Disaster Management/Operational Risk preferred (but not essential)
Personal Qualities:
- Strong leadership capability: Chairing meetings, appropriate reporting, action tracker management, ability to assign responsibility and accountability at applicable level of management.
- Broad knowledge of current and emerging operational resilience processes, tooling and other related subjects.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain proposals/solutions in business terms, establish rapport and persuade others
- Ability to manage across organisational boundaries, with the goal of understanding political drivers and influencers
- Practical and analytical in approach to problem solving with a focus on managing in a team environment with attention to results and with a sense of priority/urgency
