Job Title: Operational Resilience Specialist
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the day-to-day management of operational resilience, acting as a subject matter expert on regulatory requirements and ensuring integration with business continuity and disaster recovery efforts.
- Maintain ownership and oversight of Important Business Services (IBSs) and Impact Tolerances (ITols), ensuring they remain accurate and relevant.
- Serve as Deputy Chair of the Operational Resilience Working Group and be an active member of the Incident Response Team, contributing expert input and supporting the development of materials for senior governance forums.
- Provide expertise and support in preparing regulatory submissions, attestations, and internal reporting to governance committees and boards.
- Manage a comprehensive suite of documentation and materials to support both regulatory compliance and operational activities related to resilience.
- Facilitate alignment between operational resilience, business continuity planning, IT disaster recovery, and cyber/information security efforts to promote a cohesive and integrated approach.
- Support senior leadership in defining the strategy and priorities for resilience compliance and promoting broader business engagement with resilience initiatives.
Role Requirements:
- Maintain and develop the organisation’s IBSs and ITols, and coordinate a scenario testing programme to validate these elements effectively.
- Assist with the preparation and submission of operational resilience regulatory returns, Lloyd’s attestations, Board Self-Assessments, and routine internal reporting.
- Develop and maintain policies, procedures, testing methodologies, and action trackers that form a best-in-class operational resilience framework.
- Refine and test incident response communication protocols and ensure readiness for use during real-world disruptions.
- Build effective relationships across departments to ensure alignment and enhance awareness of resilience processes and responsibilities.
- Identify innovative opportunities to evolve the resilience framework and strengthen organisational readiness for operational disruptions.
- Strong understanding of operational resilience regulations, especially within the Lloyd’s and wider insurance market.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality reports and presentations for diverse audiences, including executive and board-level stakeholders.
- Advanced PowerPoint skills and the ability to translate complex data into clear, impactful visuals.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a track record of driving process improvement and innovation.
- Proven ability to build effective relationships across departments and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Highly organised and self-motivated, able to manage competing priorities, work independently or collaboratively, and meet deadlines consistently.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Professional insurance qualifications (e.g., CII) are advantageous but not essential.
- Minimum of 4 years' experience within the insurance industry.
- Familiarity with the Lloyd’s Market is essential.
- Demonstrated experience in operational resilience and relevant regulatory frameworks is required.
