Job summary

Practice Plus Group Hospital Ilford is seeking a dedicated Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) to join our theatre team. You will work across anaesthetics, scrub and recovery, supporting perioperative care and patient safety.

HCPC or NMC registration is required. The role offers 37.5 hours over 4 days, a competitive salary up to £48,500, and ongoing development within a multidisciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• NMC- or HCPC-registered practitioner with perioperative care experience.
• Minimum of 2 years' post-qualification UK experience across anaesthetics, scrub and PACU.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational and time management abilities.
• Experience maintaining accurate patient records.
• Proficient IT skills including Outlook and Excel.
• Flexible, positive approach and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care within the perioperative environment.
• Rotate across Anaesthetics, Scrub and Recovery as required.
• Prepare and check theatre and anaesthetic environments for daily operating lists.
• Support patient transfers, handovers and clinical documentation.
• Monitor equipment, stock levels and consumables to ensure safe practice.
• Work collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists, nursing colleagues and wider multidisciplinary teams.
• Maintain infection prevention and control standards.
• Participate in theatre safety checks, stock takes and governance activities.
• Support students and colleagues through supervision and teaching opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, professional standards and current legislation.
