Job summary

Lloyds Banking Group is looking for an OpenShift Operator to manage and enhance the Bank's OpenShift platform across environments. You will operate clusters, perform upgrades, investigate incidents, and build automation to improve reliability.

The role requires collaboration with engineering, security, and infrastructure teams in a hybrid work setup across multiple UK sites. The position focuses on maintaining security, availability, and compliance, with on-call rotations and exposure to

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience operating production OpenShift or Kubernetes platforms.
• Experience with incident investigation and root cause analysis.
• Ability to automate and standardize operational tasks using scripting or tooling.
• Knowledge of observability tools (logging, monitoring, alerting) and operational data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Operate OpenShift clusters across environments per platform standards and support models.
• Execute upgrades, patching, and maintenance with validation, rollback, and recovery controls.
• Investigate incidents and implement permanent fixes to prevent recurrence.
• Build and improve automation and operational tooling to reduce manual effort.
• Maintain platform security controls (RBAC, service accounts, certificates, secrets) in line with policies.
• Maintain runbooks and procedures and participate in a structured on-call rota.
