Job summary

Baresca Tapas, a family-run restaurant group bringing the spirit of Barcelona to Mere Green, is seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead the kitchen for our new opening and take full ownership of the food operation.

This hands-on senior role focuses on standards, consistency, and developing a strong kitchen team while delivering food to brand specifications from day one. Competitively, the package offers up to £40,000 base salary with a £6,000 achievable bonus and a range of perks.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Head Chef role.
• Strong focus on fresh food, standards and consistency.
• A calm, organised leader who develops people.
• Commercial awareness with GP/cost control experience.
• Responsible for allergen, food safety and due diligence systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the opening and day-to-day running of the kitchen.
• Own food quality, presentation and consistency to brand specs.
• Lead service from the pass, managing pace and communication.
• Recruit, train and develop a kitchen team with focus on attitude and values.
• Manage ordering, stock control, GP, and kitchen budgets.
• Ensure allergen, food safety and due diligence are followed.
• Aiming for a 5* Environmental Health rating.
• Collaborate with GM and directors to deliver seamless guest experience.
• Contribute to menu development and group-wide improvements.
