Job summary

Sussex Police in Brighton is seeking an Out of Court Resolution (OoCR) Case Worker to help progress cases through targeted interventions and provide ethical, evidence-based alternatives to court proceedings.

The role sits in a centralised team that supports frontline officers by reducing demand and delivering high-standard interventions. A hybrid working pattern is offered with occasional county-wide travel.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others at all levels, in a team and with partners.
• Ability to interact positively and sensitively with adults from hard-to-reach vulnerable groups.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage conflicting priorities in the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Contact victims of crime and ascertain their needs to make it right and promote victim welfare.
• Identify needs of offenders and conduct needs assessments for adults.
• Work with offenders with complex needs and tailor interventions and agreements.
• Liaise with Restorative Justice Team for conditional cautions.
• Undertake other duties appropriate to the grade and character of work.
