Job summary

Air Apps in Lisbon is seeking a Backend DevOps Engineer to design, automate, and maintain the infrastructure powering our backend systems. You will collaborate with developers in person at our Lisbon office to build scalable, secure, and reliable environments.

Responsibilities include implementing CI/CD pipelines, managing AWS/Azure/GCP, and deploying containerized apps with Docker and Kubernetes, while optimizing costs and ensuring high availability.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in DevOps, SRE, or Cloud Engineering with hands-on cloud experience.
• Proficient with CI/CD tools and modern cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi for IaC.
• Containerization and orchestration with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm.
• Strong Linux, networking, and security fundamentals.
• Scripting in Bash, Python, or Go for automation.
• Experience with monitoring/logging (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog).
• Awareness of cost optimization and high-availability architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment.
• Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Apply IaC using Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.
• Deploy and manage containerized apps with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, improve reliability.
• Enforce security best practices including identity management and logging.
• Collaborate with development teams to improve deployment efficiency.
• Optimize cloud resources for cost-effectiveness and scalability.
• Automate provisioning, config management, and system maintenance.
• Stay updated with emerging DevOps tools and practices.
