Job summary

Air Apps is seeking a DevOps Engineer Backend to design, automate, and maintain the infrastructure powering our backend services. You will collaborate with developers in person at our Lisbon office to deliver scalable, reliable deployments and secure cloud environments.

You will build CI/CD pipelines, manage AWS/Azure/GCP or multi-cloud, implement IaC with Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi, and optimize costs while ensuring high availability. This onsite role supports relocation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in DevOps/SRE/Cloud engineering.
• Proven experience with CI/CD ecosystems (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI, ArgoCD).
• Hands-on with AWS/Azure/GCP and serverless computing.
• Proficiency with Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm.
• Strong Linux, networking, and security fundamentals.
• Scripting in Bash, Python, or Go.
• Experience with monitoring/logging (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog).
• Understanding of cost optimization, scalability, and high-availability.
• Strong problem-solving in agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automation.
• Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure across AWS/Azure/GCP.
• Implement IaC with Terraform/CloudFormation/Pulumi.
• Deploy and manage Docker containers and Kubernetes clusters.
• Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, improve reliability.
• Enforce security best practices including IAM, logging, and vulnerability management.
• Collaborate with developers to improve deployment efficiency and troubleshoot infra.
• Optimize cloud costs and ensure scalability and availability.
• Automate provisioning, configuration management, and maintenance tasks.
• Stay current with emerging DevOps tools and practices.
