Job summary

Hunter Douglas Retail UK Limited is seeking a hands-on Production Manager to lead our Colwick manufacturing site in Nottingham. You will drive operational performance, implement Lean practices, and own continuous improvement initiatives across safety, quality, delivery and cost.

The role requires onsite presence five days per week and a strong track record of translating business targets into practical shopfloor plans with measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience leading manufacturing operations and delivering KPI targets.
• Proven Lean manufacturing implementation and waste reduction.
• Strong problem-solving and data interpretation skills.

Responsibilities

• Take accountability for manufacturing performance and KPIs (output, productivity, quality, OTIF, cost).
• Lead daily operations using Tiered Daily Management to monitor performance and drive escalation.
• Translate forecasts into production plans using cycle times and capacity data.
• Optimize labour, materials and equipment use and manage budgets to reduce waste.
• Drive Lean principles including standard work, line balancing and continuous improvement.
• Own DREAM initiatives with measurable KPI impact and sustainable outcomes.
• Identify constraints and continuously improve throughput and process flow.
• Coach Section Leaders and teams to own KPIs and apply structured problem solving.
• Ensure robust quality control and cross-functional collaboration.
