Job summary

Ledwood Engineering is seeking an experienced HSE Advisor for the Hinkley Point C project. The role is hands‑on, with a strong presence at the worksite, collaborating with management, supervisors, engineers, and subcontractors to deliver competent EHS advice and assurance.

You will identify risks early, ensure controls are implemented, and escalate any standards shortfalls. The objective is zero incidents and continual EHS improvement within a dynamic, high‑risk environment.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent recognised EHS qualification.
• Good knowledge and understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation.
• Knowledge of relevant environmental requirements.
• Practical EHS experience within construction, engineering, manufacturing or a similarly high‑risk environment.
• Experience undertaking workplace inspections and audits.
• Experience supporting risk assessments and RAMS processes.
• Experience supporting incident and near-miss investigations.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Competence in standard IT systems for reporting and record keeping.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent EHS advice, coaching, challenge and assurance at the point of work.
• Identify risks early and verify controls are actually implemented.
• Escalate issues where standards are not being met.
• Support the project EHS team in achieving zero incidents and continual improvement.
