Job summary

Holt Engineering is seeking an Electrical Technician to act as the primary day-to-day representative at a major customer site near Cheltenham. The role combines electrical/electronic fault finding, test-system support, wiring and modification with significant customer interaction.

The successful candidate will work with specialist engineering teams, read schematics, perform tests, and support maintenance, with travel within the UK/Europe as required. A hands-on background is essential.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND or equivalent in Electrical, Electronic or related engineering discipline.
• Electrical/electronic fault-finding to module level; component-level helpful.
• Ability to read schematics, wiring schedules and diagrams.
• Experience with validated wiring/workmanship standards.
• Hands-on fault-diagnosis and repair on complex equipment.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary day-to-day technical representative at the customer site near Cheltenham.
• Provide first-line support for automated test systems and electrical/electronic equipment.
• Diagnose faults to module level and, where possible, component level.
• Use DMMs, oscilloscopes, LCR meters and similar instrumentation for fault diagnosis.
• Carry out wiring, modification, repair and rework to approved engineering information.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, system diagrams and drawings.
• Escalate complex issues to specialist engineering colleagues as needed.
• Identify recurring issues and opportunities to improve reliability and performance.
