Job summary

The EHS Specialist at Abcam, part of Danaher, will lead day-to-day environment, health and safety performance at the Cambridge site. This on-site role reports to the EHS Manager and focuses on building a strong safety culture across operations.

You will manage EHS systems, deliver audits, training, and risk-based improvements to protect people and the scientific work that Danaher's life sciences portfolio supports.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH National Certificate or equivalent required.
• Hands-on experience supporting a laboratory-based organization.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and related tools.
• Ability to work independently while leading EHS initiatives.
• Strong planning, prioritization and risk management skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage and enhance site EHS management systems for compliance and continuous improvement.
• Plan, lead and execute internal EHS audits and track corrective actions.
• Lead EHS initiatives and projects aligning with governance and standards.
• Identify training needs, develop content, and deliver training for site risks.
• Coach and partner with site teams to implement effective risk controls.
