Job summary

RWE Renewables UK Management Ltd. is seeking a skilled Wind Turbine Technician for a full-time, permanent role based at our Llandarcy site, with visits to South Wales sites. The role focuses on maintenance, servicing, inspections, and component exchanges to maximise energy yield.

You will operate SCADA systems, perform fault diagnosis across mechanical, electrical and hydraulic domains, and maintain comprehensive records. Flexibility for on-call hours and travel is required.

Qualifications

• Proven wind turbine technician with extensive maintenance experience.
• Strong fault diagnosis across mechanical, electrical, power electronics and hydraulics.
• Good understanding of HSSE systems and safe work practices.
• Self-motivated, able to work in a small team with minimal supervision and good communication.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance and servicing of wind turbines and balance of plant, including servicing, reactive and proactive maintenance, inspections, modifications, retrofits and main component exchanges.
• Work in a small team with minimal supervision; work proactively and flexibly to minimise failures and maximise energy yield.
• Utilise SCADA systems and other computer based systems to interrogate turbines, reset faults, to instigate maintenance activities and build a fault/history.
• Be prepared to have a flexible approach to working hours around the weather and workload, to be on call outside normal working hours and travel to other sites within South Wales.
• Maintain maintenance records, electronic and paper, of all work performed on plant.
• Proactively assist in all areas of site operations, working on projects, spares and other non-routine works.
• Adhere to HSSE Management system; identify and own tasks to improve safety, turbine performance or general working.
