Job summary

Barnsley College is seeking an experienced Teacher to deliver Construction-related subjects, including Health and Safety, Employability, and Industrial Development, with online delivery via Microsoft Teams. You will plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons, assess student work, provide feedback, and monitor progress across programmes.

Ideal candidates will have teaching qualifications or be willing to work towards a Level 6 PGCE, plus relevant industry experience and strong communication

Qualifications

• Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards a Level 6 PGCE)
• Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject
• GCSE Maths and English (Level 2 or equivalent)
• Minimum three years' relevant industry experience
• Good knowledge of the construction industry
• Ability to train, assess and support students
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage learners at all levels
• Motivated, positive and enthusiastic approach
• Excellent team working skills
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults

Responsibilities

• Deliver Construction-related subjects including Health and Safety, Employability and Industrial Development
• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging online lessons via Teams
• Assess student work and provide timely marking, assessment and feedback
• Monitor learner progress across programmes
• Plan and support learners during two-week block programmes
• Collaborate with Course Leader and Construction team to support learners' development
