Job summary

Ormston School in Leeds is recruiting Teaching Assistants to cover KS2, KS3 and KS4 in a friendly, supportive environment. The role is a one-to-one or small-group position within our secondary classes, starting ASAP/September 2026.

The school, part of Polaris Community, values safeguarding and professional development and offers a 12-month fixed-term, full-time contract during term-time. DBS check will be required prior to starting work.

Qualifications

• Ideally A-levels; GCSE grade C or equivalent in English and Maths.
• Experience as a Teaching Assistant or similar role.
• Experience working with SEMH in an educational setting.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and support one pupil or a small group (up to six).
• Support the Classroom Teacher during lessons.
• Report on pupil progress and liaise with staff to meet needs.
• Supervise pupils during non-classroom time and trips.
• Assist with lesson planning and prep.
• Build positive relationships to drive learning outcomes.
