Job summary

Vision For Education is recruiting SEN and one-to-one Teaching Assistants to support primary students in Stoke-on-Trent. The role involves one-to-one or small-group support across Reception to Year 6, helping children with autism, ADHD, SEMH or speech and language needs, and working with teachers to implement support plans.

No SEN qualification is essential; an Enhanced DBS is required or willing to obtain one.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people, ideally with additional needs
• Patience, reliability and a calm approach
• Right to work in the UK
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to get one

Responsibilities

• One-to-one or small-group support, from Reception to Year 6
• Supporting children with autism, ADHD, SEMH or speech and language needs
• Helping pupils settle, regulate, communicate and join in with learning
• Working with the class teacher and SENCO, following each child’s support plan
• On longer placements, getting to know one child and team over weeks or months
• School hours, typically around 8:30am-3:30pm, with no evenings or weekends
• Day-to-day and long-term bookings
• Guaranteed pay scheme (subject to criteria)
