Job summary

Great Berry Primary School in Basildon is seeking a part-time one-to-one learning assistant to support a pupil with complex needs in Key Stage One/Two.

The role is fixed-term until July 2027, 17.5 hours per week (8:30am-12:00pm), 38 weeks per year, term-time only, with enhanced DBS and safe recruitment checks.

Applicants should have GCSE English and Maths and prior experience with autism, behaviour and medical needs; visits are encouraged.

Qualifications

• One-to-one learning assistant with reliability, competence and care.
• Recent experience with children with Autism, behaviour and medical needs.
• English and Maths at GCSE level or equivalent.
• LA qualifications may be relevant.

Responsibilities

• Support a pupil on an individual basis in the school setting.
• Be adaptable, well organised and a team player.
• Where necessary work with groups of children.
• Communicate effectively to encourage pupils to achieve their best.
