Job summary

Velindre University NHS Trust is seeking an experienced oncology nurse to lead clinical and operational care for patients receiving a range of treatments. You will assess needs, plan and implement care, supervise junior staff and contribute to clinical governance.

The post requires a 1st level Registered General Nurse with Oncology experience and the ability to work flexibly across settings, including potential coverage in chemotherapy or inpatient areas. Welsh language skills are desirable.

Qualifications

• This role requires RGN with post graduate Oncology knowledge and CPD in cancer care.
• CPD in change management and leadership is advantageous.
• Strong IT, numeracy and literacy, with knowledge of cancer care.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in clinical and operational procedures with patients and families.
• Develop and direct care plans for in-patient, daycare and respite care.
• Coordinate with community services and other agencies.
• Demonstrate active clinical supervision and innovative practice.
