Job summary

East and North Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Trust is seeking a Chemotherapy Registered Nurse at the Lister Macmillan Cancer Centre in Stevenage. You will contribute to the safe delivery of cytotoxic chemotherapy, monoclonal antibodies, and supportive therapies while supporting patients and their carers in a holistic care environment.

Ideal candidates may have oncology experience, but full training is provided.

Qualifications

• Active NMC registration and degree in nursing or health-related field.
• Willingness to undertake formal chemotherapy course at university.
• Post-registration oncology/chemotherapy qualifications desirable.

Responsibilities

• Administer cytotoxic chemotherapy and monoclonal antibodies safely to patients.
• Maintain high standard nursing care in line with policies and unit philosophy.
• Support Senior Nurse for Chemotherapy Services and care for patients and carers.

Recognition and escalation of deterior

Venipuncture

Cannulation

IV administration of medications

Chemotherapy administration

Education

NMC registration

Degree in adult nursing or health-related subject

Willingness to undertake chemotherapy course

Post-registration oncology/chemotherapy qualifications

Advanced communication course
