Job summary

The Lister Macmillan Cancer Centre, part of East and North Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Trust, is seeking a Chemotherapy Registered Nurse to safely administer cytotoxic chemotherapy and monoclonal antibodies to oncology/haematology patients, and to support them and their carers throughout. Active NMC registration is required.

A degree in adult nursing and 1 year post-registration acute experience are essential, with a willingness to undertake a university chemotherapy course.

Qualifications

Degree in adult nursing and active NMC registration.
Willingness to complete university-based chemotherapy course.
At least 1 year post-registration experience in an acute setting.
Experience working with cancer patients in a medical setting.

Responsibilities

Safely assist in administering cytotoxic chemotherapy and monoclonal antibodies to oncology-haematology patients.
Provide ongoing support to patients and their carers.
Ensure nursing care meets high standards in line with hospital policies and unit philosophy.
Provide high-quality care to patients and significant others.
Promote a good learning environment.
Support the Senior Nurse for Chemotherapy Services and the wider team.
