Job summary

FirstPort is seeking an expert Service Charge Accountant for a full-time, on-site role in Luton. You will manage end-to-end service charge accounting for a portfolio of residential properties, reconciling income and expenditure and ensuring compliance with leases and legislation.

You will partner with property managers and clients, produce clear financial reports, and support budgeting, forecasting, and cost-control improvements to drive efficiencies.

Qualifications

• Strong service charge accounting experience for residential or mixed-use properties.
• Proficient budgeting, forecasting and variance reporting.
• Knowledge of UK leases, charges and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with non-financial stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review service charge accounts for a portfolio of properties.
• Reconcile income and expenditure; monitor variances and explain results.
• Explain accounts and provide clear commentary to clients and managers.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cost-control improvements.
• Assist internal audits and maintain accurate financial records.
