Job summary

Amey is offering an on-site Operational Safety Advisor role at the Staffordshire County Council Highways Operations depot. The position is 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a competitive salary and a Company Car/Car Allowance.

Ideal candidates will hold a NEBOSH qualification, have strong health and safety knowledge, and experience in risk assessment, incident investigations, and data analysis to drive improvements across the account.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH qualification or equivalent.
• Good understanding of Health and Safety legislations.
• IT and Data Analysis Skills.
• Planning and organisational skills.
• Previous experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities

• Support the operations team on local incident/accident investigations and implement preventive actions through root cause analysis.
• Provide account level feedback on policy and procedure implementation.
• Observe, inspect and audit to identify areas of strength and weakness.
• Analyse data to identify trends and develop improvement plans with the operations team.
• Undertake regular site inspections to ensure policies and procedures are followed.
• Support risk assessments and consider how risks could be reduced.
• Stay updated on legislation, regulation and best practice through CPD.
• Participate in account-level Health and Safety Site meetings.
