Job summary

Amey Ltd in Oakham (HMP Stocken) is seeking an on-site Painter & Decorator to join our facilities management team supporting Her Majesty's Prison and Probation Service. You will perform planned and reactive painting tasks across the prison, ensuring workmanship meets safety standards and timelines.

The role requires NVQ level 2 or 3 in Painting & Decorating, solid practical experience, and a strong commitment to health and safety.

Qualifications

• NVQ 2 or 3 in Painting & Decorating is required.
• Previous relevant work experience in maintenance or decorating.
• Good awareness and understanding of health and safety, method statements and risk assessments.
• Comfortable working alongside prisoners.

Responsibilities

• Planned and reactive paint work in all areas of the prison.
• Care and maintenance of tools, materials and additional company property.
• Compliance with Health & Safety Policy and directives.
• Support local and business zero carbon programmes where appropriate.
• Ensuring H&S standards are achieved across the contract.
