Job summary

Amey is seeking a Painter & Decorator for on-site duties at HMP Stocken. The role involves carrying out planned and reactive paint work across the prison, maintaining tools and materials, and ensuring compliance with health & safety policies.

The standard hours are 39 per week (Mon–Fri) with a 1 in 3 weekend rota and an additional 15% allowance on basic salary. The base salary ranges from £26,487 to £32,493 depending on experience.

Qualifications

• NVQ 2/3 in Painting & Decorating.
• Previous relevant work experience.
• Good awareness of health and safety, method statements, and risk assessments.
• Comfortable working alongside prisoners.

Responsibilities

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an on-sitePainter & Decorator in HMP Stocken.

The standard hours of work are 39-hours per week, Monday – Friday. There is a need to work 1 in 3 weekends on a rota basis (and with an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary).

The base salary is between £26,487 - £32,493 dependant on experience.

By using our facilities management expertise, we help keep 60 secure premises across England and Wales running smoothly.

The Painter/Decorator plays an important part in ensuring the planned and reactive maintenance work within the prisons is carried out in a safe, compliant and timely manner.

What you will do:

• Planned and reactive paint work in all areas of the prison.
• Responsibility for the care and maintenance of tools, materials and additional company property.
• Compliance with relevant company Health & Safety Policy, instructions and directive.
• Thisrole will also support both local and businesszero carbon programmes, working towards zero carbon in astrategicand lean manner as and where it is appropriate.
• Responsible for ensuring H&S standards are achieved across the contract.

What you will bring:

• Qualified to NVQ 2 or 3 in Painting & Decorating
• Previous relevant work-related experience.
• Good awareness and understanding of personal health and safety, method statements and risk assessments.
• Comfortable working alongside prisoners.
