Job summary

Berkeley Living is seeking a proactive Maintenance Operative to join on-site teams at our BTR schemes in Staines and Slough. You will perform reactive and planned maintenance to ensure high-quality resident living spaces, reporting to the General Managers and working across disciplines with a focus on service, safety, and efficiency.

With hands-on trades experience, you will contribute to smooth handovers, defect logging, and timely responses to issues, while maintaining strong communication

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance experience across plumbing, carpentry, basic electrical work.
• Strong problem-solving and customer-service focus.
• Excellent communication and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair resident-ready spaces across two sites.
• Identify defects and log them per procedure.
• Address immediate issues like leaks, electrical faults, and basic carpentry.
• Plan tasks to reduce downtime and coordinate with on-site team.
• Assist with void unit turnover and cleanliness.
• Ensure health and safety standards and update records (Yardi).
• Coordinate access for external contractors.
