Job summary

Skilled Careers is seeking an experienced M&E Manager for a major on-site role in Guildford, Surrey. The position is permanent, pays up to £95,000 including travel, and includes pension and private healthcare.

You will lead M&E delivery on site, manage specialist subcontractors and drive installation, commissioning and handover in line with programme. The role requires strong knowledge of QA, commissioning and handover, with a delivery-focused approach and excellent coordination with

Qualifications

• Experience as an M&E Manager or similar role on major construction projects.
• Delivery of M&E packages for main contractors.
• Strong mechanical and electrical technical knowledge.
• Experience managing specialist M&E subcontractors.
• Solid QA, commissioning and handover understanding.
• Experience on large-scale construction projects.
• Ability to read drawings, specs and technical information.
• Good programme awareness and ability to drive subcontractors.
• Practical, delivery-focused approach.
• Confident dealing with subcontractors, consultants and internal teams.
• Experience with large-scale residential developments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Take day-to-day responsibility for the M&E delivery on site.
• Manage mechanical and electrical subcontractors and progress to programme.
• Coordinate M&E activities with the wider construction programme.
• Review drawings, specifications and installation information.
• Identify and drive resolution of design/coordination issues.
• Conduct QA inspections and oversee testing and snagging.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and address delays or workmanship issues.
• Attend M&E coordination, progress and subcontractor meetings.
• Coordinate testing and commissioning activities with the design team.
• Ensure O&M information and handover documentation are completed.
