Job summary

Talentmark is recruiting a Laboratory Technician to join a leading global food brand in Reading on a contract basis until the end of 2026. The role is site-based in Reading, England, and offers £14.85 per hour with rates dependent on experience.

Responsibilities include sample preparation, record-keeping, and basic pharmacopoeial analysis under supervision. Ideal candidates hold a relevant scientific degree (chemistry preferred) or equivalent experience, with hands-on lab exposure and strong

Qualifications

• Hold a relevant scientific degree (chemistry preferred) or have equivalent working experience.
• Some practical hands-on laboratory experience.
• Experience working on teams and independently with the guidance of more senior team members.
• Good time management and prioritisation skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently administer samples for scientific analysis by creating records, assigning analytical tests, and allocating samples for analysis.
• Maintain chain-of-custody for controlled samples.
• Input results and liaise with clients.
• Perform basic routine pharmacopoeial analysis using aseptic technique under supervision.
• Perform lab admin and housekeeping duties as directed.
• Operate basic lab equipment as directed.
