Job summary

Irwin & Colton is seeking an HSE Advisor for a groundworks and civils contractor on a solar panel installation site in Chesterfield. This contract runs until February 2027 with an immediate start, on-site five days per week.

You will conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits; lead incident investigations; manage permits to work and emergency procedures; and promote a proactive safety culture within the team and contractors.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
• Experience delivering safety improvements on construction sites.
• Proven ability to engage with on-site teams and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Support site safety management on a groundworks/civils project at a solar panel installation site.
• Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits.
• Lead incident investigations and assist with corrective actions.
• Promote a proactive safety culture with the team and contractors.
• Help manage permits to work and emergency response procedures.
