Job summary

Green Recruitment Company is seeking an on-site Health, Safety and Environment Lead for utility-scale Solar PV and BESS projects across the UK. You will manage RAMS, conduct investigations, and ensure compliance with CDM 2015 and client requirements, while coaching site teams to uphold a zero-harm safety culture.

With 2–3 years in construction HSE, you will develop site HSE documentation and lead liaison with clients, subcontractors and regulators.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (or equivalent) is essential.
• 2-3 years' Health & Safety experience within construction projects.
• Experience on utility-scale renewable energy or heavy civil projects is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation including CDM 2015.
• Experience preparing RAMS, risk assessments and emergency procedures.
• Proven ability to manage subcontractor HSE performance on live sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead all on-site health, safety and environmental activities across utility-scale Solar PV and BESS construction projects.
• Ensure compliance with UK HSE legislation, CDM 2015 and client requirements.
• Develop and maintain site-specific HSE documentation including risk assessments and emergency plans.
• Review RAMS, monitor compliance and promote safe systems of work on site.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and safety briefings and implement corrective actions.
• Lead incident investigations and drive preventative measures.
• Oversee site emergency preparedness, welfare facilities, fire safety and environmental controls.
• Liaise with project teams, subcontractors, clients and regulators to ensure safe delivery.
• Produce accurate HSE reports and maintain site records for the HSE Country Manager.
• Foster a proactive safety culture by coaching site teams to achieve zero harm.
