Job summary

Irwin and Colton is seeking a Health and Safety Advisor for a major infrastructure project in Birmingham. The role is site-based, working 07.30 to 16.30, Monday to Friday, on a 3-6 month contract with potential extension.

You will conduct inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits across multiple sites, lead safety briefings, and support incident investigations while promoting a proactive safety culture.

Qualifications

• Construction site experience, preferably within piling or similar sectors.
• Valid CSCS card and relevant health and safety qualifications.
• Proven ability to work independently and proactively in a site-based environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to influence safety behaviours.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site inspections, risk assessments and safety audits to promote a safety-first culture.
• Support incident investigations and assist with implementing corrective actions.
• Engage with site teams to deliver safety briefings and monitor compliance.
• Assist with permit to work and other safety documentation as required.
