Job summary

AG Barr in Cumbernauld seeks a Head of Engineering to lead world‑class manufacturing on our flagship site. You will set the engineering agenda, drive multi‑million‑pound capital projects and stay hands‑on on the factory floor to mentor teams during critical overhauls or complex faults.

Reporting to the Site Director and seated on the Site Leadership Team, you will champion TPM and Lean methodologies, improve asset reliability, and ensure safety, quality and regulatory compliance across

Qualifications

• Extensive engineering management experience leading teams in high-speed FMCG/FB manufacturing.
• Ability to balance strategic management with hands-on, line-side presence when technical escalations require direct support.
• Deep technical expertise in high-speed packaging equipment and automated lines; asset reliability/PPM.
• Track record delivering multi-million-pound capital projects safely, on budget, and on schedule.
• Proven leadership to mentor shift technicians and drive continuous improvement.
• NEBOSH qualification with knowledge of machinery safety and contractor management regulations.

Responsibilities

• Set engineering strategy with Site Director and manage the site budget.
• Improve uptime via MTBF, OEE, and modernise stores/inventory.
• Maintain line presence to resolve breakdowns and mentor teams.
• Lead end-to-end Capex from business case to commissioning.
• Collaborate with Production to embed TPM/Lean and reduce changes.
• Inspire engineers and shift teams to foster continuous improvement.
• Champion Quality, Safety, Environment compliance and contractor safety.
