Job summary

Crusader Group Limited in North Tyneside is seeking a full-time Fire and Security Engineer to maintain fire detection, alarm and security systems on client sites. You will conduct inspections, diagnose faults, perform repairs and ensure compliance with relevant safety standards.

You will also document work, advise clients on best practices, and coordinate with colleagues to deliver safe solutions on site. This role may require occasional on-call duties and travel within the North East.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in cybersecurity principles applied to fire and security systems.
• Experience with network security and security devices in commercial environments.
• Knowledge of application security related to monitoring platforms and software.
• Hands-on experience installing, servicing and fault-finding alarms, CCTV and access control.
• Familiarity with BS 5839, BS 7671 and NSI/SSAIB standards and regulations.
• Ability to read drawings and manuals with attention to safety and detail.
• Excellent problem-solving and clear client communication, on-site capable.
• Willingness to travel locally across the North East; driving licence essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular inspections of fire detection, alarm and security systems on site.
• Diagnose faults, complete repairs and ensure continued compliance with safety standards.
• Produce accurate documentation and service reports for clients.
• Advise clients on best practices and system improvements.
• Collaborate with colleagues to deliver safe, compliant solutions; participate in on-call rotas.
