Job summary

Carbon 60 is seeking an experienced Environmental Manager to lead environmental management across on-site construction phases on a major UK infrastructure programme. The role requires hands-on delivery rather than policy writing.

You will work with civils, M&E, logistics and subcontractors, ensure compliance with UK environmental legislation, and drive improvements on a live site. Immediate start on a 6-month contract with strong extension prospects.

Qualifications

• Solid track record delivering environmental compliance on major construction or infrastructure projects.
• Ability to engage with regulators and clients directly.
• Strong knowledge of UK environmental legislation and EMS.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental management and compliance across construction activities.
• Act as environmental advisor to project teams, client, and regulators.
• Coordinate surveys, monitoring and reporting across fronts.
• Manage environmental incidents from identification to close-out and corrective action.
• Drive continuous improvement and embed sustainable construction practices.
