Job summary
Amey is seeking an On-Site Electrician for HMP Berwyn in Wrexham. The role focuses on planned and preventative electrical maintenance, fault finding, and safe operation within a high-security prison environment.
You will perform like-for-like replacements and ensure inspections meet BS7671 requirements, contributing to a secure, well-maintained facility. We offer 39 hours per week, with a 1 in 5 weekend rotation and a 15% shift allowance, and a base salary in the £30,866–£36,135 range, depending
Qualifications
- City & Guilds Level 2 electrical installation or equivalent.
- BS7671 knowledge with upskilling to 18th Edition considered.
- Good knowledge of health and safety requirements.
Responsibilities
- Planned and preventative electrical maintenance with admin duties.
- Fault finding and solving electrical issues in the prison.
- Carry out like-for-like replacements with inspections and tests per BS7671.
- Ensure all electrical systems are safe, compliant and functional.
- Assist Responsible and Authorised persons when requested.
- Maintain health & safety standards and safe systems of work across streams.
- Assist with escorting duties and other duties as required.
