Job summary

Amey is seeking an On-Site Electrician for HMP Whatton to perform planned and preventative electrical maintenance across facilities management. The role requires fault finding, system testing, and compliance with BS7671.

You will work 39 hours weekly, 07:30–16:30, with some weekend rota duties and a 15% allowance on basic salary. DBS and prison security clearance are required, with Amey supporting the process.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds 2367/2357 Level 2 or equivalent.
• BS7671 18th Edition (18th preferred, 17th with upskilling).
• Good knowledge of Health & Safety requirements.
• Experience in planned and preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Planned and preventative electrical maintenance.
• Fault finding and problem solving on electrical systems.
• Carry out like-for-like replacements and electrical tests per BS7671.
• Ensure electrical systems are safe, compliant and functioning.
• Assist the Responsible and Authorised persons when requested.
• Ensure Health & Safety standards and Safe Systems of Work across all work streams.
• Assist with escorting duties and other assigned tasks.
