Job summary

Trescal is seeking an experienced On-Site Calibration Engineer in the United Kingdom. You will perform on-site calibration activities at customer locations, ensure compliance with UKAS and ISO 17025 standards, and maintain detailed, auditable records using our calibration management tools.

You will calibrate a range of measurement equipment, support customers with technical queries, participate in audits, and contribute to continuous improvement while adhering to health and safety policies.

Qualifications

• Experience in calibration, on-site or laboratory environments.
• Understanding of UKAS/ISO 17025 and traceable procedures.
• Proficient with calibration records and certificate generation.

Responsibilities

• Calibrate measuring equipment on client sites in line with procedures.
• Complete calibration certificates and maintain auditable records.
• Provide technical support to customers on-site.
• Support customer and accreditation audits as required.
• Contribute to calibration procedure development and improvements.
• Follow Health & Safety policies and conduct oneself professionally on sites.
• Travel to customer locations and manage own workload.

Job Opportunity

As an On-Site Calibration Engineer at Trescal, you will be responsible for performing calibration and measurement activities at customer locations, ensuring all work meets UKAS, ISO 17025, and customer-specific standards. You will maintain accurate and auditable records of all work, data, and results using our calibration management systems.

• Calibrate a range of measuring equipment, including but not limited to electrical, dimensional, mechanical, temperature, and pressure devices, in accordance with approved procedures and recognised standards.
• Ensure all certificates and calibration records are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
• Provide technical support and advice to customers, addressing queries and offering solutions on-site.
• Participate in customer and accreditation audits as required.
• Assist in the development and review of calibration procedures and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Adhere to Trescal’s Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and maintain a professional approach when representing Trescal at customer sites.
• Occasionally undertake additional duties within your capability, for which training will be provided where necessary.

Essential Skills

• Previous experience in calibration, preferably in an on-site or laboratory environment.
• Technical qualification such as HNC, HND, NVQ/BTEC Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Good understanding of calibration practices, metrology, and theories.
• Knowledge of UKAS, ISO 17025, and traceable calibration procedures.
• Proficient in using Windows-based systems and calibration management software.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational skills.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to provide clear technical support to customers.
• Ability to work independently on customer sites and manage your own workload effectively.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer locations as required.
