Job summary

Sodexo is seeking an Electrician to provide essential electrical installation, testing and maintenance services within the prison environment at HMP Altcourse, Liverpool. The role supports the Maintenance Team Leader and collaborates with allied trades to keep electrical systems safe and compliant.

Applicants must be qualified to 18th Edition (BS 7671) and able to work independently, with on-call duties and site-based responsibilities in a demanding setting. Salary is £39,000 per annum.

Qualifications

• Proven fault finding, installation and repair experience in commercial or institutional environments.
• Experience with testing, inspection and PAT testing is essential.
• Knowledge of HVAC, AHU, controls or BMS systems is advantageous.
• Qualified to 18th Edition BS 7671 and committed to health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Carry out repairs and preventative maintenance on electrical systems within the establishment.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work, ensuring compliance with trade standards (18th Edition).
• Perform scheduled maintenance services on electrical systems and fixtures.
• Conduct out-of-hours call-outs on an On Call rota and respond appropriately.
